Useful Information about our school
Breakfast Club We are very pleased to let you know that our new drop-in Breakfast Club will be starting on Monday 10th September. The club will be open at 8.15 am when the parents can bring their child to the canteen, pay their £1.00 per day and then leave their child in the care of our two Breakfast Club workers Miss Michelle Thorn and Mrs Sandra Sanpher. Cereals, toast and fruit juice will be served and there will be some quiet games/ toys for the children to play with until they are taken to their classes at 8.50 am. The club is open for all Reception and Key Stage 1 children. Dinners If you wish your child to have school dinners, they will cost £1.75 per day (£8.75 per week). This must be paid in advance on a Monday morning in a sealed, named envelope. Any odd dinners must be paid for the same morning. If your child comes in on a Monday morning with no money, we will phone you to see if you would like to bring in either the money or a packed lunch for your child. We need to do this as a few parents have been very slow to pay and this has wasted a lot of time in the office. If your child is entitled to free school meals and you have not completed a form, please come to the office to collect one. Thank you for your cooperation. Milk Scheme Your child should have brought a letter home with details about the new 'Cool Milk' scheme which starts in September. This replaces the current milk scheme and is available for all children at this school. Each child was given a registration form which needs to be completed and returned to the Freepost address at the bottom of the form. Any child under the age of 5 is entitled to free school milk, but you will still need to complete the registration form and return it to 'Cool Milk'. Any payments that need to be made will be paid directly to 'Cool Milk' and not the school. The school will be given a list of children who have registered to receive milk at school. Please note that 'Cool Milk' will not be sending any milk for children unless payment has been received. If you need any spare forms, please come to the office. Money Handed Into The Office Thank you so much to all parents who have been bringing money into the office in a sealed envelope with the child's name, class, amount and what it is for clearly written on the front. This has made our lives much easier in the office! Scooters, Heelies, Balls,Toys and Cards For Safety Reasons Please could you ensure that children do not ride scooters or use their heelies or play football in the playground before and after school. For reasons of sanity! Please could all football cards, or other small toys or cards be kept at home. Thank you. Hertford Honeys We have been given fascinating information on the recent developments taking place in the community co-operative allotment run by mums from our school known as the 'Hertford Honeys'. Do come and read the exciting news on our green board in reception to find out how you can visit with your children or participate in this project. You can always call Sarah on 564236 or Amy on 249904 for a chat or for further details. School Absence If your child is off school you must inform the school on the first day of absence, either by telephone or via a message by 10.00 am. On your child's return to school you should provide a note to the school showing the inclusive dates of absence. If you feel it is essential for your child to miss school, eg for a religious festival, you should ask for permission well in advance and give details. If you have to take your child out of school to accompany you on your family holiday, this must be agreed by the school, well in advance. (Please note a maximum of 10 days in any school year can be legally approved by the school but it is preferred that holidays are not taken during school time). Your child(ren) can receive free school meals if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits for them. If you are in receipt of any of the above benefits you can download an application form for free school meals online or request an application form from either the school or the free school meals section Direct Tel No: (01273) 293497.Free School Meals
